i. Preferred game and/or region? How do you feel about the newer generations?
I will always have a soft spot for Crystal. After all, it IS the first game you can choose a gender and you can access two regions. They also include my favorite fire starters. I ADORE gens 1-3 and gen 5 is pretty cool, but I hate gen 4.

ii. Your favorite type/s, and if you have some favorite moves in there as well.
I'd have to say Dragon, Fire, Electric, Water/Ground and Dark/Ghost.


iii. Do you have Pokemon you love more than others? What about the ones you hate with a passion?
It's so hard to chose a few because I love so many... Abra, Sableye, Dratini/Dragonair, Salamence, Charizard, Cyndaquil and it's evos, Swampert, Jolteon, Raichu, Magikarp/Gyrados, Sandslash, Nidoking, Arcanine, Rapidash, Houndoom, Swellow, Aron and it's evos, Flygon, Whiscash, Floatzel, Oshawott and its evos, Monferno, Tepig and its evos, Mightyena, Liepard, Excadrill, Krookodile and Hydreigon are all pokemon that I adore.

I also actually have a special love for Rattata and Furret even though I don't really use them.

I actually really hate Torchic's evolutions. I have nothing against Torchic itself but I hate the second and third evos. I'm also really not a fan of Dragonite and tend not to evolve my Dragonairs. In general I'm not a grass pokemon fan so I don't particularly like grass-types, with the exception of starters(since I like all the grass starters but never use them since i suck at training them) and a few select grass types I kinda like, such as Shiftry for example.

iv. Maybe a favourite location – a town, or route, or whatever? Somewhere that you think is just grand. (I guess you could talk about soundtrack here as well if you wanted).

I actually am really amused by cycling road in the games, and even more recently that cool bridge in 5th gen.

v. Your perfect team. Describe them.
My perfect team would have to be... Charizard/Typhlosion, Swampert, Ampharos/Raichu, Sableye, Alakazam and Salamence. They'd all have nicknames since I ALWAYS give my team nicknames.

vi. Enter a cave with no repels or an escape rope?
Heck no. Only if I needed to train. I don't use escape ropes. I just buy a ton of repels. I usually have plenty of money to do that.


vii. What kind of pokemon (trainer) are you? (How do you do the things you do? Oh no, I am not going to quote that song, I promise. All my will power is going into this.)
Hmm... Well as much as I'd like to be a Dragon Trainer, my perfect team doesn't fit that, although I DO have a perfect Dragon team. I think I fit more of a Ace Trainer than anything else.

viii. Jessie and James. Your thoughts?
Awesomesauce! James is better than Jessie though cause he's the best character on Team Rocket and certainly my favorite character of all time!

All you guys are lucky you can get White/Black 2. Even if I could get them I can't afford to get a DS to play them on so I'm stuck with ROMs... : P

I am very partial to Hoenn, I guess because it was the first pokemon game I had was Sapphire as well as my first handheld game.

I like the newer generations. They really fill out the pokemon world, adding a lot of different places and creates as well as new legends and stories. I also enjoy seeing how the style has changed as time goes a long, as well as having new pokemon to love and or laugh at how ridiculous they look.

ii. Your favourite type/s, and if you have some favourite moves in there as well.

I love fighting types, every single one of them is either silly or adorable and that's generally what I go for in favorites. The thought of the type itself is kinda funny too, you have all these pokemon who shoot fire or move things with their mind and then there are all these goofy muscly humanoids who punch things and it is so great.

iii. Do you have Pokemon you love more than others? What about the ones you hate with a passion?

Pretty much if it is cat based I like it. But ultimately I think my two favorites are Golurk and Shinx. Shinx is the adorable, spunky, lion cub and golurk the huge bumbling robo-baby that is cute in its own right.

Frillish and Jellicent kinda creep me out, especially female jellicent, the males are more laughable then her.

I used to really like the mountain-trolley-lift-thing that goes to Lavaridge town in the Hoenn region a lot. The music was all peppy and adventurous too and I like watching the little may sprite bounce aroudn and the ash fall. I also like the Road to Viridian city mostly because of the music.

v. Your perfect team. Describe them.

Swampert probably male, probably named WAV for nostalgia purposes. Charizard with some lame fire-pun name like Flare or Flame. Luxray because I need a fluffy lion baby or else. Conkledurr with a silly name, if female Love, if male Ranger. An Altaria would be nice. Also probably a meganium, and if not then some other dragon or flying type.

I don't pick these rationally for competitive purposes but usually with what I like in mind unfortunately fff. Battling isn't my forte.

vi. Enter a cave with no repels or an escape rope?

I probably enter a cave thinking I have an escape rope then cry half way through when all my pokemon are dying and I forgot to buy one.

Breeder or pokefan probably fff. I can breed iceball and curse on a mudkip but then just hoard a whole box of them rather then use one.

I miss the old them, the new ones are so boring in the anime. I loved the comic relief and silly hijinks they got into.

I'm pretty fond of Hoenn too, for exactly the same reasons as you. Sapphire was my first game too.

What do y'all think of the gen 6 Pokemon that have been released? I really like them, especially Chespin, Sylveon, and the new Mewtwo form, but I've seen lots of people complain about them. Thoughts?

Sylveon has me interested, just because I'd like to see its type. There's been all this hype about it, but nothing conclusive and it's made me curious.

I mean, it could be a Normal type, Fighting type, Flying type, or something else entirely. Normal type argument is that it's pink, and that's commonly used for Normal Pokemon; also, it's visually decadent, which it kind of suitable for the 'normal' eeveelution, especially since Eevee itself is so plain. I'm slightly worried that it's going to be a Normal type evolution, but only for female Eevee, and that would be a shame, I think, if only because it's buying into gender stereotypes.

Flying type is plausible, as sylvia is the genus name of a species of bird (although I have my doubts about that), and something about resembling a lady? I don't know.

Fighting type would be fun, if only because Sylveon really doesn't look like most Fighting types and that would be a really nice blind-side for Pokemon fans, as well as an enjoyable twist on the whole 'femininity doesn't define strength' thing. It would be satisfactory to see the "girly" eeveelution being a major tank.

I've heard whispers about 'fairy type', and I don't like the idea. But I don't like change, so that's hardly surprising.

Chespin looks pretty cool. I saw some incredible theoretical art for its evolutions the other day. I just don't know if I can get used to no pixel art in the game. I love the pixel world of Pokemon.

My money is on Normal type Beauty evolution for Sylveon. Fighting would be super amazing though. The people arguing it's a new type kill me though. "Oh it's Light type because we have Dark!!!" No, you dump, Dark exists to counter Psychic.

What triad? Steel and Dragon have nothing to do with each other at all. (Although it would make a lot of sense for Dragon to be weak to steel but thats another story ff)

Hoenn is AMAZING. I was actually kinda hoping for an R/S Remake before Gen VI, but hey, it's Pokemon. I'm super excited for it.

I'll be getting X Version, also the Pokemon I choose really depends on the final forms as soon as they're released. I really like Fennekin, but my brother always chooses fire and I like choosing different from him just because. I think my second choice is Chespin, and my third is Froakie.

Funny how I said this and yet I chose Froakie.
Oh and I never did get my Black team to Level 100. X did, but that EXP All thing made it extremely easy.
I'm considering not using the EXP Share at all except for Pokedex Completion for future games.
