Hi there! Sorry if this is a silly question, but is there anywhere to showcase our own fanworks? Is Fandom Talk acceptable or is that sort of thing discouraged here? Sorry if this is a dumb question owo;

hmm. Well, everyone's free to weigh in on this, since this is still a budding forum and we're still figuring these things out. It's up to everyone to decide how we want to do these things.
At present, here's what I'm thinking. If you want to post a fanwork here, it's probably because you want feedback. If you want critique on a fanfic, and if it has original characters, I suggest posting some character bios in the Character Critique board. There you can get feedback about the cats you're using and how to develop them further. Characters may just be one part of the story, but they're a crucial part of how and why the plot unfolds the way it does, and so that's a good place to start.
If you just want to showcase what you've done, that can be accomplished through ff.net and tumblr. If you want to share with our members, specifically, placing links in your profile and signature should suffice. I've also thought about making a new board, a profile board of sorts, where members can each make a thread sharing whatever information they like. For example, in my thread I might post links to all the articles I've authored, as well as links to my accounts on other sites, and that sort of thing. Other members might post links to their dA accounts or links to the fanfiction they've written and so on. Still not sure whether we need a board like that.

I think that sounds reasonable to me. Also, the danger with asking for fanfiction critique in a public sphere such as this, you will get a multitude of perspectives. I'm not saying this is a bad thing at all, but there will inevitably be a lot of factors at work: personal preference, stylistic choice, people inadvertently influencing the opinions of others, so on. If a fanfiction critique section becomes a thing, I think it would be wise to take everything with a grain of salt, as they say.
Continuing to speak hypothetically, if that board did happen, I think it would also be wise to perhaps limit the number of submissions allowed over a certain period of time? Simply because we all lead busy lives I'm sure, and it's only possible to read and critique so much in said spare time. Exceptionally long fanfiction might be a bit of a bother to get critiqued thoroughly.
