Cat. Rhymes with rat. Ion. An atom that has an unequal number of protons and electrons. Cat. Ion. Cation. A cation is a positively charged atom. It is also me. But mostly me. The ironic thing is, I’m not even that good at chemistry, but I name myself after things that appear in the textbook. Sick, I know.
I’m a nineteen-year-old sophomore in uni and also work as a nurse’s aide at a nursing home. I’ve been skulking around the warriors fandom for several years, ever since I stumbled upon my first warriors RPG. I’ve grown from a subdued, illiterate brat to a slightly more mature person since those first couple of steps, although my posts are usually still muddled with typos. I try to catch them and edit them as I go in Word, but a few still manage to slip by me. My posts also tend to be more lackadaisical and easy-going than anything – while not riddled with chatspeak, they’re not exactly professional, and I often include some of my own snarky comments in there that have no place in an essay or argument.
I haven’t really gotten into the series since the second arc, and just barely skimmed through “The Power of Three”. The fourth arc remains a mystery to me, so I’ll probably avoid joining or starting any topic that discusses it. The first still remains my favourite, with the first three specifically taking the cake.
I found Fourtrees Resurrected via ailuronymy (which I still have to reference for spelling every. time.), which in turn was shown to me by a friend when she introduced me to traditional naming a few months ago. Since reading many of the posts there, as well as researching some of the other naming guides, I kind of get a bit twitchy when I see warrior names that, while before looked pretty, now make no sense to me whatsoever. So while I’ve been learned in the art of how to name characters without sounding like Erin Hunter on crack, I’ve also been turned off to the majority of roleplays in the fandom. –shakes fist- curse you! But, nah, not really.
I’m not really good at describing myself without being biased. I mean, everyone wants to believe that they’re awesome, but that’s not always the case, right? So, I try to be patient, fair, and kind to everyone that I meet, and I’m kind of clown, but I can also have snarky or rude moments, and sometimes my humor can just fall flat or be annoying. If that ever happens, just let me know. And when I get mad about something or someone, it's usually like...a five-minute long process that usually came about because of something I did anyways, so I usually accept it readily and move on. I'm awful at holding grudges. Unless you're secretly one of my RL co-workers. Because then, oh God, I can hold a grudge against you forever
“Skulking” is one of my favourite verbs. Ever. He skulked, we skulked, I skulk, she will be skulking. Saying “skulk” is like taking in a fresh breath of a cinnamon-scented candle. Pure paradise on earth, bro!
But anyways, enough of my dribble. It's so lovely to be here, and I can't wait to discuss aspects of the books with everyone, there are already so many good topics open...

Hello Cation, welcome to Fourtrees!. I'm Leah! The first series is the best, I agree. You seem like a fun and nice person, can't wait to get to know you!

I see you skulkin', Cation. No hatin', though.
Sup. I'm Grey, and I think I'm partially to blame for spoiling all your role playing fun. Sorry about that. Ailuronymy is a tricky word, I've been trying to think of an appropriate abbreviation so people don't have to write it out. No luck, so far, though I realised if you add Fourtrees Resurrected and Ailuronymy, you get FRAil. I think that's sending the wrong message, ehehehehehe.
Anyway, welcome to Fourtrees Resurrected. I see Leah's already beaten me to it. Though I can only speak officially for myself, I think we're all happy to have you here. Don't worry, no one's going to start going feral about spelling. Mistakes happen to everyone.

Hehe, I might, but only because I'm an OCD Grammar Nazi. Although, you're right, typos happen, and it only really bugs me if the person typing knows so little about English that I feel like throwing a dictionary at their face. But don't worry. You won't get a dictionary in your face. Hopefully.

Thanks Leah! And yes, please accept my first-series-is-awesome high five.
So Grey, I see you're a vigilante magpie. Bwahaha, I be skulkin' for days, but no hatin' for sure. And I hardly have the time for a decent roleplay anymore these days, so you're in the clear there. Although you really do need to find an abbreviation for ailuronymy before I butcher the spelling in some embarrassing way.
Until that happy day, I shall simply have to identify myself as a proud member of FRail.
I'm just warning you in advance, I can screen about 85% of my grammar mistakes, but those annoying little buggers that don't get underlined in red pop up. I'll probably be editing my posts a lot.
...and I'm swifter than a ninja, prepared for all sorts of dictionary bombshells over here.

Ailuronymy has been butchered so many times. There's Ailuronmy, Aliuronymy, Ailuronym, and my personal favourite is from a friend who is atrocious at spelling and has a tendency to skip letters entirely. She tried to write Ailuronymy and wrote Amy instead.
Close enough.
I guess Amy works, although no one will know what that's about. Also, when said friend talks about Ailuronymy in public, she has the habit of personifying it, so now everyone thinks it's my girlfriend or something, I do not even know.
Actually, did you know, as a piece of trivia, that a group of foxes is called a skulk?

The ironic thing is, I’m not even that good at chemistry, but I name myself after things that appear in the textbook. Sick, I know. Not at all. Science has so many interesting little words. Ahaha, a convert, how interesting. It's odd to me to think there are people in the fandom who haven't even heard of traditionalism. Most people I've spoken with had encountered it early on, upon joining the fandom, and formed an opinion on it one way or the other from the start. So, compared to where I'm coming from, you're a very interesting case. Everyone on neo either thinks of traditionalism the way hippies think of the Man, or they've been thinking most fanmade names are idiotic for a long time now. And honestly, as far as I've seen, you're not missing out on anything of value by being picky like that. Naming styles do tend to have some correlation with characterization styles, which in turn is part of writing style... and I figure you don't want to roleplay with those types of namers anyway. Oh yeah. Describing your own personality, even "objectively", is really hard, because what are you using as a baseline of comparison? sniiiiiiiiiff. skulking cinnamon-cented candles. You must have read my thread. Ailuronymy is a tricky word, I've been trying to think of an appropriate abbreviation so people don't have to write it out. No luck, so far, though I realised if you add Fourtrees Resurrected and Ailuronymy, you get FRAil. I think that's sending the wrong message, ehehehehehe. o-o That is definitely sending the wrong message. We are not frail. We are the gatherers of Fourtrees, hear us... uh... speak in a calm and reasonable tone of voice. Actually, did you know, as a piece of trivia, that a group of foxes is called a skulk? Did not know that. I want to use that now.

I need warning before this sort of thing. The noise I just made was really awful and kind of great. Yes, good stuff. Accurate comment.
[o-o That is definitely sending the wrong message. We are not frail. We are the gatherers of Fourtrees, hear us... uh... speak in a calm and reasonable tone of voice.]
Quite right. I mean, I'd probably be more like, "Hear me speak (or don't, that's okay, it's your choice what you do) in a long-winded and easily distracted manner about a range of topics that may, or may not, be relevant to the task at hand, because that happens from time to time, because things are really interesting and words and I believe I have diverged again..."

It really is though!
Anyone who writes like this will be summarily shot.
Don't worry, I'm not allowed to carry weapons.

Hey Cation, I'm late, but it's lovely to meet ya :3 You positively charged thing, you XD It's amazing how people are just discovering traditionalism today, it really is But I do know that feeling about non-traditional names, it gets a lot harder to focus on the actual character for me now because the name gets my eye twitching. Anyway, I hope to see ya about :3 I see ya have already made some posts, so I guess I will!
