A thread for the discussion of comics which are on the internet. There appear to be a lot of Homestuck fans here. For people who don't know it, it's really long, complex and notoriously difficult to explain. The website has a couple other comics which I would recommend reading before Homestuck so that you get the general narrative style and also some running gags that reappear fairly often. Jailbreak is fairly self-explanatory and extremely silly.Problem Sleuth is about three detectives solving convoluted puzzles. While we're on the subject of recommendations, I'll put a plug in for Gunnerkrigg Court. Another complex comic that really defies explanation. It's basically about a girl in a boarding school where supernatural things happen. An art note- the visual style definitely evolves a lot.

I've wanted to read Homestuck for quite some time now, but never really got around to doing it. Would you say it's worth reading?

Homestuck more like my life.
Doc, it's absolutely worth it. It's a fun and crazy ride amidst all the time shenanigans and convoluted game jargon. Actually both of those are part of what makes it so great. Not to mention its huge, huge cast of characters that are all great and likable and wonderful. Augh. It's perfect.

When it comes to webcomics, this one has to be a favourite of mine. The art is trendy as, and I really like her style and use of text. If you haven't already read it, I recommend you do so. Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name - hanna.aftertorque.com/?p=4However, a word of warning. It is discontinued at the moment. I believe, due to personal reasons, the artist had to leave off finishing it, and I am not certain if she will ever return to it either. It is only fair to warn you, because there is a highly likely chance you will be sad when you find out. Have fun reading.

Hanna is Not a Boy's Name is definately one of my favorites too, it makes me sad to read it now though. On another not the creator Tessa Stone has another comic comic out soon, not to sure if I'll read it though. It's called Buzz!; it's about spelling bees apparently and two siblings named Merriam and Webster.
I used to be into Lackadaisy Cats but I've stopped reading that. Homestuck is something I've started reading once or twice but I've never been able to keep reading for more than a week or so before getting caught up in something else.

There is a host for anthro webcomics called Katbox, and I read pretty much every comic on there. However each of these could easily be rated PG-13 or even R because of content. But they all have really engaging plots and wonderful art. If you're worried about content, I'd suggest "The Eye of Ramalach" and "Yosh" over the others. Oh, and stay away from "Tina of the South", because that one's, um... really bad. Content-wise.

More than what I can explain in words ;_; I'm into Lackadaisy Cats and Hanna's Not A Boy's Name as well. The webcomic I want to share is A Redtail's Dream: www.minnasundberg.fi/comicindex.phpThe art style is simply beautiful with an interesting story to boot. It's based off the old legend behind the Northern Lights and the entire comic gives off that "magical woodland" feel. It's awesome.

If y'all don't mind R-rated content with furry characters and religious themes, I highly recommend JACK by David Hopkins. It's a really interesting and at times beautiful take on Judeo-Christian theology and has a nice cast of characters, and Hopkins is really good at treating his audience like mature adults. A really fantastic read, in my humble opinion. But, like I said, this comic has really adult content and is definitely NSFW. For pretty much any reason you can think of. There is some messed up stuff in there.

Unsounded is one of the most beautiful webcomics I've read to date. You could call it fantasy, but it's quite far away from dragons and witches. The whole world is amazingly well-developed and the online format is utilized perfectly, with some moments stretching off of the "page" or a fire seeming to burn the site up and leave it in ashes for the rest of the chapter. And the main character, Sette, is just fantastic. You can't help but love her and you can't help but hate her and she's so extremely herself that she's indescribable. Everything about this story is simply remarkable and I highly, highly recommend it.
