Sup. I’m Grey.
I write a little blog on tumblr called Ailuronymy. It started as a way for me to write about naming systems without bothering my friends – or anyone else – and kind of spiralled from there. If you’ve ever had the chance to read it, you probably know who I am already.
For everyone else, hello. It’s nice to meet you.
I’m a traditionalist, which means I base my system on examples in the canon first arc with a bit of common sense thrown in. So that I don’t confuse people about varying styles within the traditionalist perspective, I tend to refer to my style as ailuronymic traditionalism. This is mainly to prevent anyone assuming that my brand of traditionalism is the only kind in existence.
It really isn’t. Traditionalism is a system of individual perspectives, not a faceless multitude of compliance.
I’ve read to the end of the third arc, which was a reasonably painful experience, and a few of the spin-offs and guides. It’s been a fair while since then, though I do keep the books on hand for referencing. I can’t remember much about the stories themselves. My main interest was, and continues to be, the linguistic pedanticism of the naming systems, and warrior code, culture and customs as well.
When I’m not stuffing around with imaginary worlds, I study Philosophy (Ethics and Law), English Literatures and Creative Writing, and I find all those subjects absolutely fascinating and relevant to everything. I have a broad spectrum of interests, a few obsessions, and consider myself to be somewhat of a young Philomath.
I don’t talk to myself much, so I can’t really give you a first-hand explanation of my character. Best to just talk to me and get the gist from that, methinks.
I look forward to it.

Hey, sup.
Yeah, I was wondering which sneaky Ruddles had been checking my mess of a blog. I think Emilie Autumn is one trendy lady; my little sister found her stuff ages ago and showed it to me, which is how I got to hear about her.
Then again, most of - if not all - the music I listen to is given to me by friends. It makes for a very eclectic variety, that's for sure.

Hauer, if you do that, you are the perfect darling forever; that is the most wicked thing.
And yes, you should definitely do that. And then give all the pictures to me, and I'll flood Ailuronymy with them, ehehehe.
I had to do a similar - but considerably less fun - project while studying Visual Arts; one hundred self-portraits. Not even elderly gentleman I saw on the train station, or pretty lecturers. Myself. Fff. I had never wanted to break my own face so much.
It was the cruelest and most unusual form of psychological torture I have ever experienced.
And thank you, Hauer. The Stranger is lovely - it's an Endroni. It took me a fair while to decide which one I wanted, because they're all so glorious. I am very pleased to see you have your colour ribbon still. It would be odd to see you without it, ehehehe.

a. oh yes, most definitely I remember you stating the requirements for horrorterror cats for an anon ask, but remind me: just a cat with a tentacle-y back? or is there more to it?
b. okay, that project sounds both totally terrible and absolutely wonderful! (I do actually enjoy drawing myself, though, ehehe)
c. I have actually read the endroni's article! I am slowly, very slowly making my way through the list, though I seem to have misplaced my bookmark hmmmmmmm the endroni's one of my favorite designs, though when it comes to story, dovadroni's one of the best so far (edit: fixed, bookmark back in its rightful place)
d. ten did say something to that effect, and I agree~

Pretty much just a cat with tentacles, yeah. It tends to look a bit like a Siamese when I or dd draw it, but that's just because I have some of those sort. Also, it wears rectangular sunglasses, because it's a coolcat.
It definitely helped my drawing ability. I can safely say that I have graduated from abysmal to mediocre, ehehehehe. Actually, on that note, I am trying to draw a horrorterrorcat to celebrate Ailuronymy's two hundredth follower.
It's... difficult. And I have the feeling it will scare people away, ehehe.

By the way, where did this whole htc business come from?

That cat is things I'm not allowed to say here because of the language rules.
Hauer, you are a magnificent human being, again. That's just brilliant. My problem now is whether or not I should post it on Ailuronymy when we get two hundred friendsies there, because I am also going to post my art there for the occasion, and my art can also be described by words that I'm not allowed to use here (but with distinctly negative connotations, as compared to the awestruck positives of yours).
Nevertheless, regardless of the inevitably feelings of inadequacy that this is going to cause, I would be delighted to put that glorious horrorterrorcat on Ailuronymy, if that's okay with you, of course.
The horrorterrorcat is the symbol of Ailuronymy, Ten. It happened late one evening when I was talking to an old friend, and I drew a picture, and she drew a picture, and things got weird and silly, and eventually the horrorterrorcat happened and I made it my avatar on Ailuronymy. Also, her background is always a collage of my worst art, and there was a lot contributed that evening.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh yay (and thanks, ehehe)
and of course you can post it on ailuronymy, grey! whenever you like. all horrorterrorcats are automatically property of ailuronymy, or at least ones that I draw. can't quite speak for the rest of the internet, ehehe (I'm thinking of drawing different breeds - a manx horrorterrorcat sounds lovely~)
how close are you to 200? c:

So close, Hauer.
We had two hundred and then I blinked and it was one hundred and ninety-nine, and now it's one hundred and ninety-eight. Clearly I've bothered some people, ehehehehehehe.
(And various breeds of horrorterrorcats sounds wickedly stellar.)
