As an interesting fact, the word "brook" has two meanings, the less commonly used one being "to tolerate or bear". I'm afraid to say it's not very useful trivia, since the word "brook" for cats would not have that connotation, but it could be a reason for lyrical namers to use -brook (although I doubt it, as I have never seen -brook being used for a tolerant cat).
Another potentially interesting fact is that -brook is used in the first series, in Rising Storm. The cat in question is Runningbrook of Windclan. However, as -stream was used before then and -brook has no divergent meaning from -stream, I advise the use of -stream.
I think it's also worth noting that the two first series cats with the prefix running- were given the suffixes -wind and -brook, making an interesting correlation between landscape/weather suffixes and that nonsensical prefix.
