As we all know, romance is something that occurs often in fanfiction of all fandoms. Usually, many of these romances in Warriors are kept at a PG level mostly because most of the fans are either at a young age or they are respectful of the fact that the series attracts a younger audience. Then there are others who take the romance further than most and go on to write a full on lemons. But, what I found is that is not only is the fact they're writing cat smut disturbing, but also the utter lack of knowledge of cat anatomy. It makes me wonder if they've ever seen a real cat before in their life; if so, they would know that's not possible. Maybe I haven't been digging deep enough into Fanfiction.net's archive but has anyone else come across this problem before? Is it a common thing in Warriors fanfiction? |

Oh dear...
I haven't ever come across a somewhat halfway decent one (as close as you can get, really, because CAT SMUT), but of course I only go in in the first place to laugh at them. They are frighteningly abundant, and I've only seen a couple that seem to be aware of feline anatomy. And those seem to all include cat-rape, upon which I flee to safer places.
Yes. Yes it is common. Yes it is a problem.

Anyway, yeah, literally all of the smut for this series is awful. Even if the quality is... decent... the ideology is still really troubling. It's always either "tru love," or "you are a pretty she-cat and I am a tom that has waited for a long time, now bend over so I can get what I want," or just full-on forcible stranger rape/gang rape/sex teafficking and slavery. It's really horribly disturbing how violent the attitude toward sexuality and sexual feelings are in the Warriors fandom.
Personally, I attribute it to the violence in the books. We all know the books are ridiculously violent, but where are the mature psychological impacts that go with it? There are none. Violence is used to excite the reader, to get them energized and running on adrenaline. It's not meant to be realistic. It's idealized violence with idealized consequences.
Therefore, the same happens in the fanfiction, hence the disturbingly common "rape you til you like it" themes. A few short years ago it was near impossible to find a consensual M-rated fanfiction.
Tl;DR Warriors smut disturbs me on so, so many levels.
Also cats have barbed penises and females spend the entire time screaming in agony. That's only sexy to the Marquis de Sade.

Thank you for saying this. It really needed to be said. I am sincerely alarmed if anyone finds that at all appealing. It's also the main reason why toms don't get with toms, I think.

I kid you not. The Ultimate Sex.When it's not disturbingly violent, Warriors porn is freaking hilarious. Also one time I read a fic where they said the female ejaculated semen. ... Did you pay any attention in 8th grade health class or...?? |

Ack, this is a thread that needed to be made.
Now, I'd like to start off by saying that since the fandom here is mostly young children and that I know we're talking about basically cat porn here, but some of the stuff on FanFiction is completely ridiculous. I'm afraid these kids are either a) 12-14 years old and not thinking beyond their hormones or b) only making this stuff to seem "hardcore" or whatever.
It really isn't that tough to do a Google search on cat anatomy. I guess it's debatable where we draw the line between "anthropomorphism" and "ridiculous", and things like having the female enjoy it aren't a big problem for me. It is a problem for me when they start including things like oral/anal, or the females having big breasts or whatever. That stuff just doesn't happen. Heck, I've seen them describe male penises as 8 inches long.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I wouldn't mind all this Warriors smut if they could just make it somewhat realistic. If they want to write "hot" stories, can't they just write them for a different fandom? Or maybe just make their own characters up? I mean, it isn't like they ever follow a Warriors-style plot anyway.

Also, when I Google "Warriors fanfiction", for a long time the first result was "SquirrelxAsh rape". Right now it's at "Love or lust?" and "Mating stories". I think that right there scares away a good half of the people looking to join the Warriors fandom XD

And like you said, if you're not even going to bother to follow simple anatomy rules, why destroy a fandom based on REALISTIC cats and just make furries or whatever to satisfy your needs? Actually, why make it public? I can't believe they're so proud of their un-researched porn that they felt the need to show everyone >.> |

It's the age. Thirteen year olds are proud of everything they do, from my experience. My little sister is about that age bracket now. She's pretty mature for her age, and she's certainly not stupid by any standard - but she does the exact same thing. It's a sort of under-confidence bolstered by overconfidence, I think.
Not that my little sister is writing porn. Her thing is drawing. At the moment, she draws a lot of anime stuff and it's not bad (in comparison to some things), but it's seriously not as great as she thinks it is. In a few years, she'll be really good, but right now. No. Not really.

Exactly what you said, Grey. Also consider that these kids are gonna be really excited to explore sex and their own sexuality because it's presented as such a taboo thing while being so glamorous. We put sex everywhere - our movies, our books, our TV shows, our advertising - and yet nobody feels comfortable talking to kids about sex. We don't teach them about sexual feelings, sexual pleasure, safe sex (unless it's to promote the abstinence-only movement in which case they get "scared straight" (read: condomless) into "not doing it" (read: hiding it from their parents) by using "real photos of people with STDs" (read: worst-case scenarios that haven't been treated in months, also furthering the stigmatization of people with STDs and STIs and pushes people away from getting regularly tested)).
Quite frnakly, I think pornfic is actually a very healthy way for kids (and adults!) to explore their feelings, desires, wants, and needs, and to help them develop as a sexual being, and to accept that their sexuality is an inherent part of who they are. (Of course, it's not always a thing for everybody, and people need to learn that that's ok too!) But Warriors porn specifically tends to bug me out because it's all so horribly violent, and mature consequences are very rarely presented. If a she-cat gets raped, she's somehow either A) atteacted to her rapist mid-assault so it's suddenly "ok" or B) she gets pregnant and is somehow totally okay and not psychologically scarred by giving birth to children begotten from a horrifically traumatic moment in her life, or C) some awful combination of all three.
Now, I get that non-con (non-consensual) is a fetish or kink for some people, and that's fine. There's a place for it and there's a way it can be handled where it can be erotic without being triggering to a person who has experienced a situation similar to that. There are in fact many people who have been assaulted and get off to non-con. But its being so prolific in the Warriors fandom and being done so truly horribly wrong is concerning, especially considering the age group of the people that write it.
... You all probably think I'm really weird and do nothing but watch porn now. That first part is true, the second isn't, simply because most porn sucks. That's right, I am a porn snob. I have reached a new low in my life.

This wouldn't be so incredibly unrealistic/problematic/unacceptable if the cats in Warriors behaved more like actual cats. Don't get me wrong - even then, there would be serious issues with this. It's just that the Warriors fandom (particularly the younger members of said fandom) have this game of pick-and-choose the levels of anthropomorphism with no consistency.
They say their cats fall in love, do romantic stuff, whatever - and then make toms aggressive and violent, and she-cats apparently masochistic in some way. It's essentially the adage of "you can't make your cake and eat it too". If you want one, you have to write the entire world and context to support it. There should be no sudden switching between two binary opposites like this.
